if i only see the past, then i cannot see the future.

if i only see the past,, then i cannot see the present.

when i look at the computer, my past experiences guide my present understanding of the computer. i see only the past in the computer. therefore, i know nothing about the computer in the present.

when i look at the car, what i learned about the car resides in my past. i can only see the past in the car. therefore, i know nothing about the car in the present.

when i look at the building, my experiences with the building provide my current reactions to the building. my past informs my present which means that i see only the past in the building. therefore, i know nothing about the building in the present.

when i hear music, my experiences guide my present understanding of that music. i hear only the past understanding of that music. therefore, i know nothing about the music in the present.

when i hear ideas, what i learned about those ideas reside in my past. i can only see the past in those ideas. therefore, i know nothing about the ideas in the present.

when i hear words, my experiences with those words provide my current reactions to those words. my past informs my present which means that i hear only the past in those words. therefore, i know nothing about the words in the present.
